THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED - We are pleased to announce details of our first event of 2019 - An opportunity to see the Swindon Wildcats ice hockey team in action at home! We have secured a block booking to watch the National Ice Hockey League 1 match against Streatham IHC on Saturday 19th January. Doors open at 5.30 pm with the match starting at 6.15 pm. EVERYONE BOOKED, PLEASE MEET IN THE FOYER AT 5.30PM.
There are a limited number places available, offered on a first come first served basis with priority given initially to our deaf members and accompanying adults. However if siblings would like to attend please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
To book your places please email Tasha at firstname.lastname@example.org with the names and ages of the children attending plus names of accompanying adult(s) - please state which attendees are adults and children. The closing date is Monday 31st December, although due to the limited number of places available we would expect them to go fast, so book your places ASAP!
Following the success of last years pottery event, we are holding this event again. There are only 15 places available so they will fill up fast! Open to all our deaf child members aged 5 and above. This is also a great opportunity for the parents to have a coffee and a catch up or join in with the pottery making. You will receive an email inviting you to the event with all the details to book nearer the time.
Our annual AGM will once again be hosted at The Royal Oak in Bishopstone. It is your chance to get involved. Stand for a committee role or just come along and support us while enjoying a relaxed meal in a fabulous location. All members are welcome, but we recommend only bringing older children who will enjoy the meal and participate. Under 18s are unable to vote. Booking will be essential for the AGM as a sit down meal is part of this annual event and the opportunity to catch up with other member families. BSL interpreters have been booked for this event, so we need to know who is coming along.
A great opportunity for our 11+ members to meet up and enjoy a meal and a catch up with old friends as well as meet new friends. This event will be hosted by audiology professionals and Teachers of the Deaf and is a chance for the children to have some time together without the parents! Details will be emailed nearer the time with information of how to book.
A new and fun event for our toddlers, pre-schoolers and infant-aged primary school children and their siblings aged 2-6 years. The double decker jungle boogie bus is full of fun and excitement and specifically designed for young children as a soft play area. The bus will be exclusively reserved for 16 of our DCS children and food will be provided. This is also a great chance for parents of younger children to meet up and have a chat. Invitations to this event will be sent out via email nearer to the time for you to book.
The first of our fundraising skydives in 2019. If jumping out of an aeroplane from 10,000 feet is on your bucket list or if you know anyone who fancies doing this... then this is their chance. The date will be booked to suit those who are keen to do this.
A great fun day out for all the family watching hapless piggies sauntering down the cues lane race track! this event has been a massive sucess over the past few years and Helen Browning is once again showing her support to local charities by donating funds raised from the tote and pig sponsorship. we are always in need of volunteers to help out on the cake stand and bake cakes for this event, as well as supporters to just turn up and enjoy a great, fund day out in this beautiful village.
A popular event from previous years is back again in 2019. This will be a great meet up for families and a chance to bounce during our very own SEN session at Freedog and get together with DCS friends - Attendees will need to arrive for 5.30pm and we will commence bouncing from 6-7pm. After our bounce there will be an opportunity to chat with fiends over food and drinks - There are spaces for up to 30 of our children, bringing along a carer who can bounce too - Booking information will be sent nearer the time.
Our ever popular annual ice skating event will be held at the very end of the summer holidays this year. A final fling with DCS friends before going back to school. The event will be open to all family members. Further information and booking details will be emailed nearer the time, but book the date in your diaries.

Following the success of last year's pool party we will once again be hosting this for 2019. We have booked exclusive hire of the pool, with floats in the pool for playing on, followed by pizza and drinks in the party room.
The swim session will be supervised by Vicky Hunt, fully qualified swimming teacher with BSL who teaches some of our DCS kids at Dorcan pool through Level Water, plus additional qualified volunteers who will be able to sign, lifeguard and communicate with the attendees.
There are a maximum of 30 places available, for our deaf DCS kids and invitations will be sent out nearer the time of the event - Able swimmers aged 9+ who can swim 50m unaided can swim without an adult. All children aged 8 and under and any swimmers aged 9+ who cannot swim 50m unaided must be accompanied in the pool by a responsible adult. A parent/guardian must stay for this event.
We are really looking forward to this exciting new event. A casual meet up with meal and presentations from suppliers of fabulous technology for our deaf children. This should be educational as well as a chance for the older children and all parents of children of any age to get together.
This event will be a fun day out for our younger members to meet Father Christmas and have fun with friends. More details will be released nearer the time.
We will be booking a skydive again soon for early next year March/April... please contact us if you are interested or know of any friends or family that would love to do this and raise funds for us. Minimum amount to raise is £350 and the skydive is free. Thank you.
