Eastcott Studios, 28 Eastcott Hill, Swindon, Wilts. SN1 3JG

This is a brand new event for 2018... At our AGM, one of the requests we received for a future event   was an arts and crafts event, so we are very excited to announce a painting and pottery afternoon at Eastcott Studios for our deaf primary age members! Tea, coffee and squash will be provided on the day.

BISHOPSTONE ANNUAL PIG RACING FESTIVAL
SUNDAY 3RD JUNE, 12PM - 11PM  (PIG RACING STARTS AROUND 1 PM)

The Royal Oak, Cues Lane, Bishopstone, Swindon SN6 8PP

Once again we are very lucky to have been chosen as one of the supported charities this year. This brilliant and fun day out in the beautiful village of Bishopstone, held by Helen Browning's Organics and The Royal Oak Bishopstone features 8 hapless happy pigs, taking part in three races- lolloping down the lane as fast (or as slow!) as their little legs will carry them. There will also be a special invitation race for the hand reared 'pet' pigs! Each pig is 'owned' by a sponsor - £40 buys you the naming & petting rights. There is also the infamous tote, plus nice food and drink available all day. Racing will start around 1.00 pm.

The Village Duck Trail, raising money for the village school,is also running over 2 weeks, including this weekend - So you can take a break from all the pig racing excitement and buy a trail sheet for £4 to explore the beautiful village and see if you can work out the movie each duck is trying to tell you!

Come along and meet us at our cake stand and catch up with DCS friends, old and new. There will be piggy and duck facepainting this year run by FOBS (Friends of Bishopstone School).

We are looking for volunteers to help with the cake stall at this event- If you would be able to help out in any way, whether it is all day or for an hour or two (allowing everyone that volunteers the chance to roam around the event) then please contact Barbara, our Head of Volunteers (swindon@ndcsgroup.org.uk). Any help would be very much appreciated.

Any donations of home made cakes to sell on the stand would also be gratefully received. Please contact us if you are willing to get your aprons on and bake- we will let you know details for dropping cakes off or could possibly collect.

Let's make this year's pig racing fundraising event the biggest and best to date!
