On arrival at 2.30pm, meet in our private room for a buffet lunch and drinks. This will be a great opportunity to catch up with other members and families and meet some members of the committee. Wheelchairs are allowed on the ice and stability aids (penguins and snowmen) will be available for our young members to use. The rink will also be fully supervised by experienced ice stewards. Any one who doesn't wish to ice skate is welcome to spectate in the seating areas alongside the rink.
At 5.00pm we will then head to the trampoline park for an hour's session, where everyone is welcome to either join in or spectate from the viewing area. This session will also be fully supervised by Trampoline Park staff.

Eastcott Studios, 28 Eastcott Hill, Swindon, Wilts. SN1 3JG
This is a brand new event for 2018... At our AGM, one of the requests we received for a future event was an arts and crafts event, so we are very excited to announce a painting and pottery afternoon at Eastcott Studios for our deaf primary age members! There will be the opportunity to create a pinch pot animal or pot out of air dry clay with Jo, artist and founder of Eastcott Studios, as well as a painting session with Martina, a mixed media artist, designer and teacher. Both activities will be fully supervised by Jo, Martina and some of our DCS volunteers so parents will be free to have a drink and chat while the children take part in the activities. Tea, coffee and squash will be provided on the day.

Once again we are very lucky to have been chosen as one of the supported charities this year. This brilliant and fun day out in the beautiful village of Bishopstone, held by Helen Browning's Organics and The Royal Oak Bishopstone features 8 hapless happy pigs, taking part in three races- lolloping down the lane as fast (or as slow!) as their little legs will carry them. There will also be a special invitation race for the hand reared 'pet' pigs! Each pig is 'owned' by a sponsor - £40 buys you the naming & petting rights. There is also the infamous tote, plus nice food and drink available all day. Racing will start around 1.00 pm.
The Village Duck Trail, raising money for the village school,is also running over 2 weeks, including this weekend - So you can take a break from all the pig racing excitement and buy a trail sheet for £4 to explore the beautiful village and see if you can work out the movie each duck is trying to tell you!
Come along and meet us at our cake stand and catch up with DCS friends, old and new. There will be piggy and duck facepainting this year run by FOBS (Friends of Bishopstone School).
We are looking for volunteers to help with the cake stall at this event- If you would be able to help out in any way, whether it is all day or for an hour or two (allowing everyone that volunteers the chance to roam around the event) then please contact Barbara, our Head of Volunteers (email@example.com). Any help would be very much appreciated.
Any donations of home made cakes to sell on the stand would also be gratefully received. Please contact us if you are willing to get your aprons on and bake- we will let you know details for dropping cakes off or could possibly collect.
Let's make this year's pig racing fundraising event the biggest and best to date!
The Royal Oak, Cues Lane, Bishopstone, Swindon SN6 8PP
Following the massive success of 'The Silent Child' including a nomination for an Oscar in the 'Best Short Film- Live Action' category at the 90th Academy Awards, star of the film and DCS member Maisie Sly and her family have kindly agreed to be a part of an audience hosted by the DCS! Maisie will tell us all about her experiences of making the film and attending the Oscars ceremony, plus answer any questions from the audience. The 'Audience with Maisie' will be followed by a supper (from a set menu) then we will hold our Annual General Meeting, where we will vote in the new committee, celebrate our successes from the past year and discuss our plans for 2018 and beyond.
